Atlantic City has all of the casinos and glamour of Las Vegas, but it is often much closer to home for those who live on the East Coast. A trip to Atlantic City is one that can be far more enjoyable than you thought it could be. The reason for this is that you can save money while still enjoying all that this city has to offer to you. Of course, it does take some planning to make this happen. If you would like to get away this weekend, why not visit Atlantic City.
Tips For Saving Money
Atlantic City is often just a drive away. Those who live in the south can make the trip overnight (in some cases) while those who live in the eastern portion of the country will be able to get there in a few hours. Driving is the least expensive method of travel. If you do not want to drive, you may be able to find a local bus tour that is heading out there. Check your local travel agents or your community center to find out if these are available.
How do you save money once you do get there? Here are some tips.
- Book in advance. Sometimes, you can get a great savings by booking your hotel and casino admission together. Chances are good you will save a considerable amount of money in doing so.
- Avoid eating at the casinos where the cost of food is tremendous. Instead invest in a few of the local eateries or even some of your favorite national chains.
- Put yourself on a budget for all of the shows and the casino spending you hope to do while at Atlantic City. This will keep you in line without allowing you feel cheated. You can often purchase tickets for shows in advance, online, sometimes for less money than the at the venue price.
Saving money at Atlantic City is possible to do. You may not be able to spend as much at the casinos but you can taken in shows. There are also great parks and amusement activities to do. The boardwalk in itself is full of things to do, including sightseeing. Invest some time in just exploring the city and people watching. Check the local Chamber of Commerce to find available discounts. You can also find these on the web often. Never go to Atlantic City without these discounts!
